bare root agapanthus

Hi there - just been sent a special offer from Suttons seeds for bare root hardy agapanthus. Was considering getting some of these for patio pots anyway so am tempted but just wondering, if they're bare root, do you think they will flower this year?

Never grown agapanthus before - anyone know if they're any good for pollinators?

Thanks in advance!

I found this
“Agapanthus is a star in garden beds, attracting honey bees, ground bees and a variety of other pollinators. Agapanthus does well in large containers, too, so pots on the deck or patio can be a good solution if you have garden areas that are too waterlogged in winter to host them”

It may take two or three years for plants to establish before flowering really takes off, but after this they will grow in to long-flowering clumps

I doubt you’ll see flowers for a year or two, they like to be pot bound before they start flowering.

Ah thanks everyone. Might just buy some bigger ones in that case I’m too impatient to wait!

Not winter hardy in some spots in the East of England - I had some in a pot for 4 years, no flowers, 5th winter I forgot to put them in the greenhouse over winter and they died ...
