Online pot plants for gifts?

I want to get someone a nice potted orchid for Xmas - there seem to be lots online but I've no idea how good any are and don't really like putting my card details into a site I know nothing about. So I thought this might be a good place to get a recommendation for a reliable site. Smile (the site I was looking at is called prestige flowers)

Bloombox is good but a bit overpriced.

I get all my plants from Crocus. They are a long established company and have a 2 year guarantee

Patch plants are great, and very reasonably priced

Thanks! Smile

How will you know if they are potted in peat? A profit for someone today is a permanent charge to climate destruction

I might order myself something too... I've got a birthday soon too ....Grin

Presumably because it's an Orchid and they're not potted in soil

I must admit I'd not particularly thought about the compost about that but I guess that's another reason (apart from the high prettiness v indestructability ratio) for choosing an orchid.

I get my orchids from Burnham Nurseries, they have a category for 'flowering now' and sell a large number of varieties, always good quality, I got a beautiful Brassia hybid 'Mystik Maze' for my birthday and they'd protected the huge flower stem so carefully. They also do cheaper, smaller orchids not in flower which I've enjoyed growing on while waiting for the first flower, perhaps better as a gift for a gardener who knows orchids. I did send one to a relative from Crocus recently too that they loved so would also recommend them.
