Anyone know what this plant is?

They are two in pots in the garden of our new house. It’s really pretty with small, shiny leaves, some of which are turning orange. At first glance it looks like a succulent but it isn’t.

Any suggestions gratefully received - staff at the garden centre today didn’t know!

Did it produce berries?

Could it be a type of cotoneaster like this?

Cotoneaster was also my first thought.

There's a cotoneaster coral beauty which apparently has some orange leaves in the winter.

We’ve only just bought the house last month so I’ve yet to see how it changes with the seasons.

It definitely looks like cotoneaster - thank you, amazing Mumsnet gardeners!

They look more like Ilex crenata to me, and have gone that colour because they are struggling without fertiliser in the pots.

Actually it does look like Ilex Crenata.

I’ll re-pot them both and add some good quality fertiliser.
