Sedum plant has died

My sedum plant has suddenly died. It's outside in a pot. It flowered and the flowers died but now the leaves have died too. The lady in the nursery said the leaves shouldn't die Confused. Anyone know about sedum plants?

Do you have a photo? Sedums are very drought resistant, so overwatering is a possible cause of death. It would help to know which species/variety it is, if you know.

I don't know what species it is BlushBlush. I just picked it up as it looked pretty. I will attach a photo. It must be the overwatering as it's been raining cats and dogs here.

I don’t think its completely dead, pull the dead bits off and leave it somewhere dryish for a bit, we’ve had a lot of rain recently which probably didn’t help. Give it a bit of rainwater every week or so.

I'll do that today? It looks like some sort of fungus all over the plant

I'd take off any nice looking bits you can find and put in gritty compost, sedums grow well and quickly from cuttings, so you have a back up.

Also, vine weevils love sedums - so it might be worth lifting it out of the pot and having a look and seeing if you can see any c shaped white grubs.

Nematodes are the biological control.

Also pulling off the dead bits and repotting in fresh compost might not be a bad idea anyway.

It looks like just the flower heads have died off. Just snip them off and it should be ok. I have one growing in a raised wall and it's looking a bit like that currently. They are hardy things and will grow back next year. I would check the roots just in case there is a bug present.
