Spring flowering bulbs

Hi. I want to make a few pots to dot around the garden with bulbs, ideally to flower as long as possible from early spring. Does anyone have a guide to follow? I'm looking for types of bulbs as well as depths and planting order. Thanks.

Daffodils, tulips for early spring, then alliums and lilies, then dahlias to give you a few months of colour

Google "Sarah Raven lasagne planting" , but be warned, her bulb collections are fabulous but cost an arm and a leg!

Lasagne is not an autocorrect, it's what she calls it.

As a rough guide, smaller flower, smaller bulb. So crocuses and snowdrops are small bulbs, hyacinths and tulips larger. The larger the bulb, the deeper it needs to be. You can find planting guides online.

I've had small pots with crocuses (they're one of the earliest to flower, so very important) and larger mixed pots with tulips and daffs.

Summer bulbs like allium and lilies are usually planted in spring.

Just a warning, whatever you choose to plant in your pots make sure you protect them from squirrels. Some people recommend wire netting or upturned wire hanging baskets. I go for an AK47 myself.

Thanks everyone. Sarah Raven videos watched and I've planted a mixture of bulbs in my small front border. Onto pots next. Thanks for your help.

Crocus sell packs for planting in pots which could be useful or give ideas.
