It looks like rosebay willowherb to me.

Arrowcat · 15/08/2020 13:43

Not sure but I get them too and pull them up as always in unwanted places.

Beebumble2 · 15/08/2020 14:52

Rosebay willow herb. Some people like it. I pull it up.

weepingwillow22 · 15/08/2020 14:57

Not sure what it is called but I think it is a weed. It is easy to pull out though.

Yup, knotweed!

Knittedfairies · 15/08/2020 16:26

Ah. Not willowherb.

Knittedfairies · 15/08/2020 16:33

Redshank maybe?

ErrolTheDragon · 15/08/2020 16:41

yes, I think it's redshank or similar. Apparently they are known as 'knotweed a' but it's definitely not the dreaded Japanese Knotweed, which is what most people think of now if you say 'knotweed'.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/08/2020 16:41

Sorry, 'known as knotweeds'

theansweris42 · 15/08/2020 16:58

Thanks all!
It's redshank /willow herb/lady's thumb - type of knotweed but not the dreaded Smile

Yes, it's redshank, Persicaria maculosa. Willowherb is usually applied to species of Epilobium. including rose-bay willowherb, which has similar leaves but different stems.
