Courgettes

New veg grower this year looking for expertise.
Looks like about 6-8 courgettes under the massive elephant ear leaves
The flowers have withered and fallen off most of them. Does that mean that they are ready to pick? They are quite small but perhaps I'm just used to massive supermarket ones

I also hate coriander but courgettes and cucumber are fine.

I would love to know what coriander tastes like to 'normal' people.

I was given a home grown cucumber by a friend and it was a world away from the supermarket ones. The favour and the crunch were beautiful.

I love coriander, to me it's a really fresh, lively taste.

Marrows are great!
Slice up
Sauté some onions
Add some turmeric powder, maybe chilli
Add in marrow / courgettes
Sprinkle with coriander
Great with naan, roti or rice
If you really want to add some prawns in!

If you would like a proper recipe I can put one up!

My courgette plants are escaping from the border and trying to take over the garden.

@CaptainMyCaptain

My courgette plants are escaping from the border and trying to take over the garden.
I actually pruned my courgette leaves back (not all just any that don't have fruit growing from them and are overhanging my lawn). Apparently it helps improve airflow and the fruit are now growing upwards more so not sitting on the soil.
CaptainMyCaptain · 12/08/2020 13:30

Thanks @Titsywoo I'll do that.

@NJ2020, Courgette and marrow recipes are always welcome

@gingercat02 we pick our courgettes every two or three days when the fruits are around 6" long. Really tasty when small and before they get 'wooly' inside. So many courgettes from one plant 🙈

When they're young to middle-aged, you can eat them cut into chunks in salads. They don't need to be cooked.
