Possibly something in the Euphorbia/spurge family. But I'm sure someone far more knowledgeable than me will be able to confirm/disagree in more detail!

Yes I'd definitely agree its a Euphorbia. If you pull it outbound careful and wear gloves it gives off a milky sap which is an irritant. It's also poisonous if ingested.

NanTheWiser · 11/08/2020 14:23

Definitely spurge (Euphorbia), best to get rid before it shoots seeds everywhere.

Agbqzy · 11/08/2020 14:23

Out not outbound! Smile

Oh is that poisonous? I usually add to picked flowers! Better not do that...

Blimey!! I thought it was something I planted but clearly not was hoping some nice veg would be in the end of it.

Thank you all it is a new veg plot so no idea where that came from.

Spurge 🤢🤢 bloody stuff is everywhere in my garden. I’ve got a delightful patch sprouting in a crack high up on a wall too which I can’t get to 🙈

Agbqzy · 11/08/2020 15:23

It's likely a bird pooped it out it's how I ended up with a buddliea and loads of calendula one year in my garden and I know I didn't plant them.

EBearhug · 11/08/2020 15:40

Spurge.

EvilPea · 11/08/2020 15:42

I have loads of it in my garden.
Luckily it pulls out easily and the bees seem to like it

It's fine as long as you don't eat your flower arrangements, and the flowers are useful if you want some fresh green.

It's in the same family as poinsettias.

Spurge. It actually looks like sun spurge, Euphorbia helioscopa, and not the usual Petty spurge, Euphorbia peplus, which is the one that self seeds itself everywhere. A lot of the Euphorbias are sold as garden plants.
