Which seeds can I plant now?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been bitten by the gardening bug this year (thanks to lockdown) and I’ve grown lots of vegetables and flowers from seed (which I’m still a bit amazed by!) I’m going to be planting seeds for some herbs and spring onions this weekend but is there anything else I could be growing now either for autumn, winter or for spring? I was thinking pansies (which I have some seeds for). I’ll have some empty pots over winter and a small conservatory which has doubled up as a greenhouse, could I keep things like salad leaves growing over winter? Thanks!

We sow succession lettuce and other salad leaves, we have in some years managed them well into winter. It all depends on where you are in the country, the more south the better, and of course the weather!

Beetroot and radish are fairly quick growing.

On gardeners world last week, he said you can still sew pumpkins in the ground. Obviously seedlings would be better, but may not be too late if you are in a warmer area. He grew his over a sturdy trellis (up and over) rather than letting them sprawl along the ground, so they can be grown in a much smaller area.

I’ve just sown some Chinese greens - pak Choi and tatsoi. Was also thinking about small salad leaves eg corn salad and land cress. You can get a second crop of potatoes in around now - Some sellers keep some back in cold storage so they’re ready to plant now. Variety called ‘Charlotte’ is popular for this. Grow in a large pot or compost bag with holes poked in bottom

I'm about to plant cabbage, broccoli and spinach. I've also recently planted beetroot, lettuce and rocket. I'm not quite sure where they are going though as my vegetable garden is rather crowded as it is! I was trying to slow down a bit then started thinking about winter. I sent for a vegetable seed kit by Bees and Seeds on Amazon which gives a good value selection of year round varieties.
