Not enough drainage -help!

I planted up a load of pots last week and it appears now there is not enough drainage. Any way I can retrospectively help this problem? Or would have to repot?

Thanks in advance!

What's happening? Are the pots looking boggy?

You could try standing the pots on pot feet (or bricks etc) if you haven't already, but if that doesn't help you will probably need to repot. You could add crocks to the bottom of the pot to make sure the compost isn't clogging the holes and/or add grit or perlite to the mix, again if you haven't already.

What makes you think there is not enough drainage? If your pots aren't draining, you can always drill another hole without taking the plants out. If it's that the soil is too clay-ey and needs more grit in, you have no alternative but to repot - but I'd certainly wait for evidence that the plants aren't happy.

It is looking boggy, but you're right @MereDintofPandiculation that the actual plants look happy at the moment but I can tell that the water is not draining away as it usually would. I will try sitting them on bricks that's a good idea thanks @ComeBackIntoTheGardenMaud!
