Hi all, MIL planted loads of plants a few years ago (against my will, I don't have time with a baby!!) and they've suddenly shot up after all this rain. Can anyone ID them please? One just has green leaves & doesn't flower but grows very tall, the other has green leaves and small pink flowers. Awful picture from window & excuse state of garden - weekend project inbound. Thanks.

The first one is Bamboo, Unfortunately it’s liable to spread. I can’t really see the second one, but it could be rosebay willow herb, a wild flower.

Closer photos would help.

Could be wrong about no 1 could be a Buddleia, but that gets purple flowers.

The tall one looks like a buddleia that has yet to flower.

Download google lens onto your phone. Launch google lens. Point phone to plant as if you’re taking a photo. Get close enough to show leaves. White dot will appear on screen when google had identified it. Tap dot for suggestions.

I think 1 is a Buddleia and 2 is possibly a pittosporum. However without seeing the leaves close up it is hard to tell!

I also thought the first one could be buddleia but I can see why the pp thought bamboo, I have bamboo similar.

Op the pics aren’t good enough to identify them,

Thanks everyone - I agree with the buddleia, I'll pop out shortly and get better pics - didn't fancy going out in the rain earlier!
