Aargh, I have had them a few weeks but I've not been in a position to plant them out til now. I've just realised that what I should have been doing is starting them off in pots.

Should I do this now, or can I plant directly into the ground? It's a mixture of dinner plate dahlias, pompoms and bishop of llandaff?

They will get going quicker if you start them in pots - but it’s warm now anyway, whatever is easiest - better planted Than not planted.

The will be fine in the ground. Mine are In pots and in the ground. The pot ones are further advanced, but my experience tells me that they will all catch up by mid summer. I think at this time of year it is better that they go into their final position as disturbing them for Re-planting later in the season can set them back.

Remember to keep them well watered and surround them with Gravel or use slug pellets once the greenery emerges.
