Thank you in advance

penstemon

Is it a mint plant? Crush a bit of the leaf and smell it.

Helianthus Lemon Queen or similar? What did he/she say it was?

Definitely not mint. Neighbour who gave it to me said she bought the wrong thing. She thinks it might be a sunflower????
Rarely see neighbour due to lockdown so can’t ask him!

I’ve no idea where to plant it!

Don't think it's a penstemon as they tend to have a more smooth lead, less ridges, it does look like mint but you'd know by the smell of it Grin wonder what it'll flower like x

perennial sunflower?! That sounds amazing - off to google

maldivemoment · 17/05/2020 15:04

Thank you so much. Should I keep it in the pot? Plant it in the garden?

It does look like helianthus Lemon Queen (perennial sunflower), in which case it'll soon outgrow its pot. Plant it in the ground in a sunny spot and be prepared to divide it every few years because it spreads quite quickly.
