Not entirely sure what they are. Just weeds? Thanks.

the second isca buddlia seedling.
no idea about the first

Strawberrycreamsundae · 04/05/2020 13:55

The first might be camomile I think.

fronttoback · 04/05/2020 13:55

The first one looks a bit like feverfew to me.

ForInfoOnly · 04/05/2020 14:08

@Strawberrycreamsundae I also thought the first may be Camomile..

The first looks like feverfew.
It's not chamomile

ForInfoOnly · 04/05/2020 14:12

@gnomeisland oh yes it does look like it, thank you!

The second looks like a foxglove.

SpiderPlantSally · 04/05/2020 14:15

The second one - bristly leaves? If so perhaps Comfrey which a weed really but quite an interesting plant - has medical uses and can be steeped in water for a fertiliser). It might take over a bit - so if you have a small garden, beware!
If they're softly furry rather than bristly, I am thinking it could be a foxglove (which I love). Either way, it will be clear which it is by the end of May.

moodoperator · 04/05/2020 14:22

I have a free app called picturethis on my phone which identifies plants from pics. It's told me that the first is feverfew and the second is common foxglove.

campion · 04/05/2020 14:22

If there's a developing bud in the middle of the second one, it's foxglove. If not, probably comfrey. I leave foxgloves and have lots coming this year. Comfrey I pull out. I think it looks more like comfrey.

ForInfoOnly · 04/05/2020 16:43

Thank you all so much. I've had another look and the leaves of the second are very soft so I think you're all right that it is a foxglove, cheers!

Be very careful with fox glove, it irritates your skin and eyes and obviously is very dangerous if consumed as it is the source for digitalis. If you touch it use gloves.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 04/05/2020 16:51

Oops! Definitely feverfew... I just went to have a look at my camomile

Strawberrycreamsundae · 04/05/2020 16:54

I don’t think that’s foxglove, the leaves are too small and differently configured to a foxglove - this is one in my garden (please ignore weed next to it!)

I also think feverfew. Very pretty daisy plant, but it does self seed. Not difficult to pull out though.

This makes me realise that I have lost mine, used to self seed and I'd let a few grow each year, I haven't seen it for a year or two.

MereDintofPandiculation · 05/05/2020 12:01

Strawberrycreamsundae I can't see any material difference in the configuration of your foxglove and OP's

EdwinaMay · 05/05/2020 13:59

My foxgloves have bluer and less pointy leaves bot it could be due to my poor soul.

MereDintofPandiculation · 05/05/2020 20:44

Don't think there's a lot of difference in leaf shape, and the colour could just be differences in camera.

Beekeeper1 · 05/05/2020 20:50

First certainly looks like Feverfew and the second a variety of foxglove - possibly a cultivated strain such as 'Mertonensis' rather than the true wild 'Purpurea'.
