My husband and I moved in February and have inherited a mature garden that requires some thinning out and tidying. I wondered if anyone can identify this plant for me and recommend whether I keep it or not? Many thanks Smile

It looks like it may be an elderflower ( but I'm on mobile and can't see properly) . Keep if it is. You can make elderflower cordial and champagne with it.

Hydrangea

It’s a viburnum I think and a gorgeous one at that. I couldn’t bring myself to remove it.

I’ve you’ve only just moved in I wouldn’t do anything with the garden for a least a year until you know what you like.

Looks like this . It's lovely, definitely a keeper I think. www.gardenia.net/plant/viburnum-plicatum-f-tomentosum-shasta

I think it’s a viburnum too, there’s a few different types. If it gets a bit big it can be pruned right back. Worth keeping on top of.

Agree with PP, it looks like a totally stunning viburnum - you have to keep it Grin

Thanks so much for your help... It's definitely staying 🙂

I think it's Viburnum plicatum mariesii - also known as the wedding cake tree because of the way it develops its branches in layers.
