When I plant my pumpkins out...

I saved some pumpkin seeds from some little pumpkins I had last autumn and showed them in my propagator a few weeks ago

They are growing nicely, but not exactly upwards like my tomatoes are.

When I plant them out do I support them with bamboo like I will with the tomato plants or will they be more of a trailing type plant?

They will wind themselves all over your veg patch, you just need to note where the roots are for watering purposes. They take up a lot if space.Pinching the tip out when you get a couple if fruit will mean they put energy into those getting bigger.

Plant out whe risk of frost's at night is over, this varies depending where you are in the country.

They don’t tend to grow upwards (although I did have one growing in a tree once!). They spread out everywhere and wind themselves into other plants and grass so make sure you trail them somewhere suitable.

And you need 2 pumpkin plants to pollinate.

I currently have 6 growing in my propagator

I have cleared a large patch for pumpkins which is seperate from my tomato area.

Do I need to do anything more to pollinate than just have more than one plant?

I have a bee hotel in the same location although I think the bees are still choosing to nest elsewhere
