Plants that survive in shade?

Hi all, I'm a little clueless when it comes to gardening, I've just ordered some bark for our borders and we're going to fill it with nice tubs as we do each year, the ground is a bit crap due to giant tree roots. We have a corner in the garden that barely gets any sun and I just wondered what plants of flowers I could put there please? Sorry about the crap picture, the bbq is there currently but we're going to move that, put bark down and some bright tubs and I just want it to look as bright and lovely as possible!

Thanks in advance 😊
