What plants would you buy if...

What plants (non flowering - I just want greenery) would you buy for your bathroom if:

  1. your bathroom has no window and no natural light - I am reliant on an extractor fan
  2. you'd been given a plant a few times in the past as gifts and every single time they had died swiftly due to your incompetence Grin

I'm re-doing my bathroom, going to paint, get a new cabinet and thought I'd put some plants on the shelf where I current have candles and nick-nacks but with my history with plants and the lack of sun I need something that is really tough.

Any advice please as I know nothing?

Thank you

Whatever plant this is, gets barely any light and I’ve watered it probably once in the 7 years I’ve had it.
I haven’t a clue how it’s doing so well!

Same as my bathroom.
I have peace lilies and dracaena which both do fine

I think that on the photo with the plant from LochJessMonster I can see reflection of some window

there are no plants which will survive without window unless you provide them with some artificial lighting for indoor plants

get an artificial plant instead

Anthuriums do very well in my bathroom with limited natural light. Easy to get hold of at supermarkets & hard to kill.

They do flower but you can get them with green flowers that blend in.

No plant will be happy without some natural light. There are some very good fakes now, maybe look at them?

What others have said but you could try looking on Google for houseplants that do well in poor light, getting two and putting one in the bathroom and one in a bright room but not in direct sunlight. Then swap them each week.

This question was on the radio the other day.

The suggestion was to get several plants and rotate them so they get some natural light.
