Can I grow grass?

Hi,
I am hoping someone can tell
Me if and how I can grow grass in the main area of my garden (in front of where the bbq is) I will attach a pic.
We rent, so I don't want to spend loads making the garden nice, but I hate it!
The whole think was full of foxgloves - I've removed most of them.
The soil is quite dry and there are lots of small stones.

Any advice welcome, I've no idea what I'm doing!

I would have thought so. Rake it clear, sprinkle some grass seed then water.

@LIZS thanks! That's what I was thinking

In my experience grass just grows itself! Shame about the foxgloves, they are lovely. And it's fashionable and good for the environment to have a wild-flower garden.

@eddiemairswife they were covering the whole area, I did leave some round the edges 🙂 I might get some wild flower weeds for around the border!

There's some really good videos on YouTube about how to grow grass 😊

Nice that you left some in 😍 many people would raze it completely if not pave or deck it over. You probably can go grass but if it is dry now it will be awful in the summer. Could you mix the grass up with low growing thyme and camonile, and some clover? They will atY greener, are better for the environment and your soul ☺️ and are much chicer. A perfect lawn, green and neat says alot about demographic and environmental awareness.
What is the giant bush in the right? Will it give shade? You would then need to choose grass seed accordingly.

the wild thyme and camomile lawn will *stay greener for longer in high summer when lawn die for a month or two. They spring back in autumn though. Please try and avoid chemicals on a (new) lawn as this will hurt the bees but you know this already as you saved some of the foxgloves. (Did you know they are poisonous if eaten so watch out for toddlers.)

Thanks all, I've ordered some hard wearing grass seeds - specific to the uk apparently. I'll see how that goes. I don't want to put too much effort in as we will be moving soon after the pandemic has calmed down - and the landlord doesn't deserve any favours from Us!

I've got some wild flower seeds too so will do those for the bees.

I'm not planning on using any chemicals!

My MIL told me about the foxgloves being poisonous recently -I had no idea!
We have no toddlers - just a cat who isn't interested in them!
