Webbed Orchid?

I've been successfully keeping my orchids alive for a couple of years now, after reading advice and watching YouTube videos.
One of my orchids has become webbed on the stem. I have searched for advice on this to no avail.
I've never had this happen before

It is a virus (sorry!!!!!) and unsightly but harmless.

Oohh never seen/heard of this either, and have kept orchids for many years and been to many shows.

I would assume it's just grown a bit funny, I'm sure nothing to worry about, enjoy the blooms!

It's called 'Fasciation' (not 'fascination', though it is certainly fascinating!) and means something like ' a bundle' or 'tied bundle' - because, well that's what it looks like. One of my white butterfly orchids did something similar this year and I've seen it in many plants and shrubs over the years.

It can be caused by anything - from disease - unlikely, as it looks otherwise healthy, to temperature, insects, natural plant hormones: well, everything and anything! Don't worry too much, it may be that because of breeding this cultivar is prone to it, but most years you'll get perfectly normal flowers.

You might well have seen it before without realising on daisies in your lawn as the daisy family seems especially prone, where you get a double-headed flower where the stems have grown together as one.
