Useless with plants - any idea if this is too much water or not enough? Radiator behind is off . Is it salvageable do you think?

Brown tips suggest dry air. Is the soil wet or dry? Wet = probably too much water, dry = probably not enough. You have some healthy leaves there, so it is salvageable

Cut off the dead leaves and water once a week. Fingers crossed it will be ok! I have one of them in a bucket sized pot and water it with about 275ml once a week. Depends on what soil it’s in how much water it keeps in it.

Thanks v much - that is a lot more than I've been giving it so I think you're right that I've been under watering -fingers crossed I can revive it!

Try it once and the next week push your finger right down into the soil and see if it’s still wet. It should be barely damp. If it’s wet then your soil or the size of the pot may be different to mine so water a bit less. It’s a guessing game for a while! Also they don’t like draughts so keep it away from them or that could kill it too.

I have a large one of these from IKEA 🙂

I had to seek online help from a houseplant forum as mine went really crispy within a week of it being home Blush
Transpires it needs quite a bit of watering. I assumed the opposite.

Can you transfer it to a slightly bigger decorative pot or basket that can comfortably accommodate a plastic saucer in the base? That way you can monitor water uptake.

I don't think they like draughts.
I mist mine with a plastic spray bottle when I remember.

I cut all the dry leaves off mine and it's bounced back.

If yours is from IKEA I found that the potting medium they use gives the impression of being damp when it's not. It naturally feels soft and spongey like damp compost when it's actually dry.
