My Dad has an allotment, he has some of it covered over as it is too big

we could have a bit of it if we wanted?

I love the idea of it, more for the children, they would enjoy it

But..........How easy can it be??? I dont want to have to go to it all the time (appreciate it would need watering if we ever get nice weather lol)

Could we grow a few things (simple things ) and just visit it once a week?

any advice would be great

Thanks

WE have a veg patch in garden. To get it cleared takes a bit of wrok but after that it gets weeded once a week, this time of year I go out most days as things need picking.

was worried about the clearing, but as its my Dads its ok, as he has some unused which he cleared and covered over

what kind of 'easy' things would you suggest to grow?

Thanks

I grow veg in my garden, mainly in pots, we have butternut squash, runner beens, tomatoes and chillies growing. This is my first year of growing veg i think i have done well

easiest things are lettuce, radish, they come up really quickly, peas and beans look pretty climbing up, but you have a bit of work supporting them, but my favourites are potatoes, take a lot of room, and onions. Anything I grow from seed I just shove in a growbag, dont have to worry about getting them mixed up with the weeds

Peas and runner beans, courgettes, pumpkins, and tomatoes and cucumber. The trick is to grow what the family will eat.

we would eat most things, well, we would give them a go anyway!!!

Thanks for the advice

Our carrots, peas and beans have done really well this year - all very easy, and delicious
