Rhubarb!

I've just taken on a little allotment plot as a total beginner and I'm hoping for a bit of advice if possible!

My plot has been severely strimmed down after being neglected so I'm starting with a blank canvas but I've found a few rhubarb crowns which have been chopped right to the ground. There are new leaves developing so I assume they aren't completely done for, I'm just wondering what is the best thing I can do for them? Should I add compost/manure? Leave them be?

Any advice much appreciatedGrin

The leaves will die back naturally when the weather gets colder. Protect the crown with some straw over winter and you’ll get beautiful new rhubarb to harvest at the end of next spring! Grin

As above but chuck down some manure too.

Let the new shoots grow and don't use them. We stop picking ours at the end of July and leave them to shrivel naturally.
Only our 3rd year and they grow like weeds!
Rhubarb gin next year, yum
