No idea but bumping for you.

Has it got red stalks? I have something similar it has white flowers , but it does seeds itself all over the place. I don't know it's name though.

NewYellowPencilCase · 23/08/2019 13:20

Red stalks could be rhubarb or burdock...

Mustbetimeforachange · 23/08/2019 13:27

It's not rhubarb

ppeatfruit · 23/08/2019 13:27

Yes I know mine isn't but the OP's could be rhubarb or gunnera which is ENORMOUS

Fieldofgreycorn · 23/08/2019 13:36

It could be a tree. Could you take a photo of the leaf shape?

Mollyboboff · 23/08/2019 13:40

Not a Gunnera, but no answer from me.

runoutofnamechanges · 23/08/2019 14:28

It's not my plant, a friend asked me to identify it and I have failed totally, which is why I am asking the MN hive mind Grin

Clearly great minds think alike as your thoughts are similar to mine, I don't think we've cracked it though... My first thoughts were rhubarb or gunnera from the original photo he sent but ruled them out when he sent the photo above because of the way the petioles join a central stem. Plus, they are green so not rhubarb or burdock. I also wondered whether it was a sapling of some kind but the leaves are huge and I can't think of any native species it could be. I guess it doesn't have to be native though...

I haven't got a close up of the leaves but they are cordate and possibly crenulate but that could be pixellation on my phone! Grin

I've added the original photo he sent and a close up of the stem.

Oh... I think I've got it. It's a Paulownia tree but goodness knows how that arrived uninvited.

FaceOfASpink · 23/08/2019 14:56

Yes it's definitely Paulowina Tormentosa. It'll get massive but no need to panic as it's not invasive. Hoik it out when it outgrows its spot.

Fieldofgreycorn · 23/08/2019 15:20

Yes!
