Is planting this plant a good idea?

I’m trying to establish some ground cover in my flower beds. I want to discourage weeds from growing and also make it less tempting for cats to use my soil as a toilet! I’ve planted this (attached) to start off with. How much will it spread and do you think it will look nice in the beds and not strangle the other plants? I can’t actually remember what it’s called, so can’t find info online. Thanks!

It's pretty impossible to identify from a photo of leaves and no flowers! Doesn't look like mind-your-own-business (Soleirolia soleirolii). Possibly a Pratia?

Hmm. Let me see if I took a photo of the name when I bought it! (Hoping so but knowing my disorganized self I doubt I did!). Will report back...

Ah ha - it’s Muehlenbeckia Complexa!

There are two Muehlenbeckias - M complexa and M axillaris. Axillaris is the one generally used as ground cover where it will spread like a lava flow over rocks, logs and any other plants that cant rise above or through it. Complexa climbs. Photo attached shows this years growth after chopping back in the spring.

Ajuga provides great ground cover, pretty pink/white/green leaves with flower spikes about 4 inches high which the bees love.
