No sun!

I have posted previously about my horrible north facing corner where nothing much grows. I had some great ideas here so thanks to those who posted. I have gone for a climbing rose but have noticed that the area literally gets no sun all day. Will the rose even flower with no sun? It's really annoying to think that i can't grow anything there that i'd want to flower. I thought i'd go with Acer but won't that just stay green with no sun? The photos show some plants i have tried growing along the fence but aren't happy there. You can see a slither of sun across the top of the fence ..that's really all the area gets. Very grateful for any advice again Smile

@Fucksandflowers.. thanks for the compliment about my hebe! I think it must be because it's new and only just been in the pot for a few weeks. I find they tend to ñot do well after the first or second year..maybe more food is required!

I think they need severe pruning like lavender.
Else they go woody.

@Fucksandflowers.. thanks. Talking of lavender i've got this in one in a pot. It's its second year and has flowered profusely but now it looks half dead. Should i cut it right back do you think??

That looks like French Lavender?
If so, I have heard they are tender and often die in a cold winter..
With my (English) lavender, I prune it to about half height in September then in march/early April I cut it back even further to just above a teeny tiny brand new green shoot at the bottom

@Fucksandflowers.. yes that's it.. French Lavender. I think i'll use the flowers for lavender bags and then prune it right back as per your advice. Thanks Smile
