What fruit is this on my tree?

Just moved into a new house. There are lots of fruit trees, I can identify the apple, pear and plum trees but not this one?

Looks just like my (prolific) Victoria plum does at this time of the season. Maybe about 2 weeks ahead of mine (but I'm in Scotland).

Walnut leaves are pinnate - a central stem with pairs of leaflets. I don't think these leaves look like that.

Almonds are velvety, like peaches.

They look like unripe plums of some sort.
