Will this survive being moved?

No idea what it is, but it's lovely. Its very well established and survives my general gardening neglect and ignorance.

I need to clear the area where it is though. Can it be moved?

That’s beautiful! I think it’s a weigela. I have one in my garden too and it seems to be very hardy and low-maintenance - it’s survived and thrived over the past year despite my complete lack of gardening knowledge.

I’m not sure about moving it though - hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon!

It’s a Weigela. I wouldn’t move it until the Autumn, but if it’s essential to move it now wait until the flowers have faded, then prune off all the flowering stems. This would be the pruning time anyway.
When you dig it up take as much rootball and soil as you can. Prepare the new planting hole with some new compost and water it in well. Make sure you water frequently over the summer. It may sulk for a bit, but hopefully make some new growth.

Thank you!! I've been here 8 years and it's survived so far, so really reluctant to kill it by moving.

If you have to move it now it will survive. Prune it half way and keep it well watered in its new position for a few weeks. I have moved Weigelia at all Times of the year. Give it a week seaweed feed once a month until September.

Brilliant, thanks. I don't need to move it for a few weeks so can wait til the flowers are gone.
