Have ordered a cutting in eBay to try and grown.

Would this be best in a greenhouse?

If it's Senecio rowleyanus, then yes, best in a greenhouse, although outside in the summer would be OK. It's not a hardy succulent, so it must be inside as soon as it starts to get cold. I have a variegated form hanging in my porch.

Your cutting will probably be a piece of stem - lay it on top of some gritty compost, and it should produce roots from the nodes where the leaves are attached. Water it sparingly until it seems to be well rooted. It is best kept in a greenhouse really, I'm not sure it would be very happy outside.

I have mine in the bathroom - it's happy and plump and rarely watered. Humidity apparently isn't great for succulents but I thought so long as there is minimal watering, all will be well. And so far it has been
