Hydrangeas - Companion and Full Sun or Shade

I have a bed with about five or six hydrangea plants of differing sizes. They are all the same type where you cut the dead heads off in March (If that makes sense).

The bed gets full sun in the morning but for the rest of the day it is quite shady. Should I leave these hydrangeas here, or would they be better off in a more sunny area.

I don't particularly want to move them, so if it's ok to keep them there, what can I plant around them to fill the gaps. I'm looking for some permanent ground cover type plant, preferably flowering, and some sort of winter interest would be good.

Thank you.

If they re happy leave them. Is it dry or damp? Hostas, ferns, hellebores, bulbs for the spring, hardy geraniums.

Sounds a perfect spot for hydrangeas to me they don’t like too much sun

Thank you all for this advice. I'll leave them be.
