How to prop up wandering wallflowers 😁

This is probably a stupid question but is there a good way to prop up big clumps of wallflowers effectively?

I have lots of clumps of erysimum Bowles Mauve (hooray) but the long bed they're in is S facing and they're trying to escape across the lawn towards the sun. I planted them in the middle/back of a 3-4ft deep bed!

I'm losing the definition of my curvy lawn.

They flower nonstop here in my SE garden. I'm reluctant to prune them back as they're covered in flowers which I'm thoroughly enjoying Grin

I tried canes and stakes but they quickly pushed them over (ground is baked solid). I'm wondering if there's some kind of rigid metal mesh I could half bury to keep them contained Confused

Maybe try chopping them short? You could do a few and see if it works.

Something like this? (Probably not at that price though! I'm sure you can get cheaper ones- or make some!)

Much cheaper but the same alternative to sarahraven

Wilko also sell a slightly taller one at £4.50 which is ideal for dahlia

Thank you everyone! I'll try to commit to chopping them at some point but I can't bear to be without the flowers 😂

Dontsweatthelittlestuff that looks just the ticket, thanks! I'll investigate the taller one Smile
