Privacy planting help for an awkward space

Hi. My first post and I’m looking for some advice please on how to create some privacy on an awkward area of our decking. Theres a 4m long wall with a neighbours fence on top (2m), their garden is a lot higher than us. I can’t attach anything to the wall or their fence. There no soil border, just decking. It gets really hot in the summer, sun till about 3pm. Have looked at a row of long, tall planters with bamboo but would be too costly and difficult in the summer keeping them sufficiently watered. Any ideas be greatly appreciated 😊

We got some wooden planters and trellis from Ebay. Screwed the trellis to the back of the planters and ended up with something similar to this I stapled grey shade netting to the back for good measure then planted Virgina Creeper which grows really quickly. Worked very well for us and looks nice.

Thanks ProfYaffle. Do you attach the Virginia creeper to the netting with something?

No, it clings by itself. The netting was really for extra privacy as we could still see through the trellis.

ProfYaffle the netting would be great on the open trellis. Thanks for help

We have used these positioned in large plastic plant pots to screen off an area in our garden - we are trying to disguise the oil tank.

It will look something like this:
