A type of larkspur?

wigglypiggly · 10/05/2019 12:12

.

Minkies11 · 10/05/2019 12:16

Veronica Gentionoides? Flowers can be quite a pale blue...

myidentitymycrisis · 10/05/2019 12:22

Are any of those things that can self seed I wonder? Could have blown in from a neighbour.

Neither larkspur or Veronica rings bells but I will google and examine it. Thanks for the ideas.

I’m quite happy with it

I don’t think it’s larkspur, the leaves are long an pointy with a single crease down the centre

I’m pretty sure it’s the Veronica, thanks Minkies11

mummmy2017 I don't know that one
Hope a real gardener comes along soon Smile

The one with blackberrys Looks like it is a St. John’s wort.
Lovely yellow flowers in summer then red berries that slowly turn black.
Self seeds everywher in my garden.

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 10/05/2019 18:55

The first one could be a Delphinium Excalibur

Yes, second one’s Hypericum, St Johns Wort. Can be a nuisance self seeding, but the birds love the berries.

RumDo · 11/05/2019 20:02

Could it be a Camassia?

Siameasy · 12/05/2019 21:10

Could the first one be flax (linseed)? I had a similar one pop up in my garden. Flaxseed is in birdseed and I imagine it came from there.

LilyRed · 12/05/2019 22:15

First one is most definitely a Veronica Gentianoides, Minkies11 you have just won your Real Gardener Award Star Grin I used to have them all over my previous garden.

No2 is a Hypericum by the looks of it; Hidcote is the most common cultivar available; I can't get a very large picture on my screen to be specific I'm afraid!

Minkies11 · 12/05/2019 22:37

Lilyred - Grin My veronicas are blooming atm so shouldn't have got that wrong! However there are many things I planted that I have forgotten about and constantly have to google....will be a real gardener one day.....
