How should I clean houseplant leaves??

Got this succulent (?) thingy in the kitchen - I'm guessing slightly greasy, dusty leaves can't be good for it?!

A gentle wipe with kitchen towel didn't seem to do much - do I need to buy a special cleaning spray or can I use anything else I might already have??

I ‘mist’ It with a water in a spray bottle, then wipe clean the leaves as best I can.

Seems to work well my succulents are huge! X

My DM used to wipe them with a cotton ball dipped in milk

Great thanks I've got a mister somewhere and will also try the milk

I’ve seen the inside of banana peel recommended, but haven’t tried it myself.

damp cloth, wet wipes, stick it in the sink and use the tap.

They are really quite sturdy, and any of the above works!

I just put the smaller ones in the shower and use a wet microfibre cloth on the big ones.

In the warmer months you can put succulents and cacti outdoors and let the rain do the job. Otherwise, the shower or a watering can with a rose will give them a good wash.

For ferns, I take outside, turn the plant pot upside down and give a gentle shake.

For the rest (spider plant, orchids) I use a damp cloth.

I've been tempted to buy 'leaf shine' products, but have never tried them because they can be harmful to cats (and mine do like the occasional play/nibble... so I have to ensure that my houseplants and associated products are non-toxic!).
