Visiting Kew Gardens - deals?

Hi all, hope you can help, I am taking DD 11 to Kew tomorrow and wondered if there are any deals on entry price? According to MSE some places will give you 50% off if you go on your own with a 2 for 1 voucher, but am not sure if Kew will do that. I'm hoping for half price for me with child's ticket for DD but not sure if that's realistic! Anyone have any experience?
Also have any of you been lately? Recommend anything? It's going to be hot, so will steer clear of the glass houses I think!
Thanks in advance everyone

This is too short notice for you but Blue Peter badge holders get in free.

Noooo @meglet we both have one - mine is about 40years old tho.

Lady, Kew recycles all its own rubbish so even if it dosen't seem like it none goes to landfill, it is either incinerated or sorted for recycling.

Manzana, that makes no sense. They have the manpower to go through the rubbish bins and sort it when they don’t have anyone to go round and clear the tables? I’m not convinced. It all seems so incongruous with what the whole place is about.

Full price adult and full price child £24. Not allowed to class child in 2 for 1. 🙄

So, just in case anyone is searching for info on Kew Gardens, just wanted to update. It was lovely today, really sunny but overcast. A few points to note:

  1. they will be charging a 15p surcharge per hot drink served in a disposable cup, so take your keeper cup with you
  2. If you are travelling one adult with one child they won't be covered by the 2 for 1 deal (they can't class a child as an adult apparently) so buy your tickets on line before you go
  3. If you need a 2 for 1 voucher they have them at Richmond station ticket desk, but you need to ask a staff member.
  4. Take all of your food and drinks with you
  5. Children aren't allowed to use scooters around the grounds.

I think that's about it.

Thanks everyone for your help on this thread.

PS Lady, i agree with you on the waste produced by the cafe, so many water bottles and paper cups. Even if they have been made sustainably, they are still only used once. I don't understand why they just can't use ceramic cups and metal spoons and wash them up, that's got to have less of an impact on the environment surealy.

Hello again! I went to Kew last week and used my 2for 1 GW card to get in. The lovely lady at the ticket gate let me and my dd 11yrs in for the price of one adult - cost £19.
There is hope if you get the right person on the desk.
The Children's garden was lovely too, we booked online, but admission was very relaxed they didn't even check our names.
