Grass and football

Has anyone got any ideas how my grass, and my football living children can live happily alongside each other?

Ds killed most of the grass in my old house, now he has killed all of it in my new house. What was a lovely lawn is now just a huge patch of dirt/mud.

We live in a conservation area and are not allowed fake grass.

Are you using a hard-wearing turf or seed?

Lolatall · 15/04/2019 18:01

I wouldn't have the first clue, I'm no gardener and mowing the lawn is about my limit. The grass was already here when we moved in, I've tried grass seed but the birds just ate it.

We could returf but seems pointless if it's all going to get ripped up again.

So you are saying there is actually hardwearing grass?

How old is DS? Is there a local park/playing fields?

Lolatall · 15/04/2019 18:07

He's 10, but unfortunately no friends living locally so he mainly plays in the garden. I've now also got his younger brother who is starting to play, so seems I have many years ahead.

I've just googled hard wearing turf, I didn't know this was a thing but it sounds like the way to go.

Awww let your kids play and have fun! Your kids are being healthy and having fun all in the safety of your own garden.
You can have a lovely lawn when they are grown up! (Until you get grandkids!)

Springiscomingsoon I know, that's what I keep telling myself.

Although right now any lawn would do, it doesn't have to be lovely, just a few blades of grass would be niceSmile
