This plant is very successful in my garden and I wanted to buy some more. I have not been able to find its correct name.

Can anyone help me out?

my first thought was forsythia, but the flowers look a little too floofy for that and mine is still basically twigs and petals

is it a broom of some sort...maybe have a google and see if you get anything there

It is Kerrie Japonica

Beebumble2 · 31/03/2019 15:55

It is Kerria Japonica, it spreads by sending out shoots at the root. So if you want more investigate at root level and see if there are some shoots to separate from the main plant. Dig down a bit, cut out and pot up. In the Autumn plant the new plants where you want them.

which hazel?

wowfudge · 31/03/2019 18:39

Definitely Kerria.

SeventhWave · 31/03/2019 22:27

Kerria, I agree.

PurpleWithRed · 31/03/2019 22:32

Kerria. Hope you like it a lot as it spreads very easily and is the very devil to get rid of. Oh and it’s dull green sticks for a lot of the year. (Bitter experience speaking)

ElasticFirecracker · 01/04/2019 15:40

Thank you everyone.

@PurpleWithRed This made me laugh.

I didn't like the colour of this plant just too yellow for me, and I have spent years trying to get rid of it. Every year I cut it right down and it springs back in its yellow glory. But now, I've started to like it and respect its tenacity. I am looking for something to quickly fill a very bleak space in my garden. I know this plant likes it here and will grow quickly.
