Can anyone identify this please?

Just looking through my borders and seem to have gained roughly 10 to 15 clumps of this but I have no clue if it is a plant or a weed. It is very fragrant and seems to have a very shallow root system if that helps. Thanks in advance everyone Smile

Can anyone identify this please?

Looks like flat leaf parsley.

justforareply · 30/03/2019 14:39

I think it's a weed that has yellow flowers. I'll have a look at stuff tho

justforareply · 30/03/2019 14:47

Are leaves coming up from ground centrally or is there a stem iykwim?

InterstellarGlitterBalls · 30/03/2019 15:07

At first glance it did look like young ragwort - a toxic weed with yellow flowers.

A closer look and I'm thinking coriander.

Haggisfish · 30/03/2019 15:08

I think coriander too

florentina1 · 30/03/2019 17:39

Is it feverfew. If so it has tiny white flowers and is used for migraine

Poppins2016 · 30/03/2019 17:41

Another vote for feverfew... do the leaves smell, OP?

Poppins2016 · 30/03/2019 17:45

P.s. just seen that you said it's fragrant in your OP! In that case it definitely sounds like feverfew...

prettybird · 30/03/2019 17:46

I'd have also said feverfew (small white daisy like flowers with yellow centres) but the root system isn't that shallow. Although maybe this early in the season for new self-seeded plants, it is.

ToftheB · 30/03/2019 17:55

Could it be an welsh poppy? They’re coming up about now and are good self seeders.

@prettybird, I've usually found that young feverfew plants are quite shallow rooted...

So frustrating not to see the plant in real life - a simple sniff would confirm it!

Moonflower12 · 30/03/2019 19:50

Feverfew- leaves can be eaten in salad. Also excellent for problems such as osteoarthritis etc.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 30/03/2019 19:53

Does it smell?

You should be able to say if it's parsley, which it very much looks like, or coriander or neither.

nothingpunny · 04/04/2019 19:53

Thank you so much everybody SmileI'm afraid my internet went funny and I didn't get any notifications.

The plant is very fragrant indeed and has quite a nice fragrance to it actually. I will have a look at all your suggestions and see if I can pick it out from that.
