Silly honeysuckle question!

How close can I plant to the house and can I plant them with friends?

I have two small honeysuckles already planted together, probably about 15 - 20cm away from the house wall, is this okay?
Not going to damage foundations or anything?

I’d like to add a winter honeysuckle so there would be three honeysuckles all growing in very close proximity and very close to the house?

No, their roots won't damage the foundations. You might find that the issue will be that they don't do well because they can't get enough moisture; the soil next to the house will be in a rain shadow, due to the overhanging roof. The solution might be to plant them further away, and at an angle leaning towards the wall.

Hmm, perhaps on the next pleasant day I’ll dig them up and replant a little further away.
And add a winter one to them...

The soil is near a pond and I think never too dry.
It’s not boggy either but I think it retains water fairly well.

The honeysuckles have been there over a year, they grew well but then in summer their leaves got ugly spots all over them and dropped off.
Mildew maybe.

Possibly drought related I suppose.

Winter honeysuckle is rather different to the summer flowered hybrids, it doesn't climb, and grows into quite a large shrub in time (mine is now about 8 feet tall and as much across) so you might need to rethink its placement not in close proximity to the others.

Hmm, could it be espaliered possibly flat against the wall...

Well you could try but as Nan says it's more of of a shrubby tree than a climber (unless there's a new variety out now!) Mine smells lovely I thought it was a type of weigela when we moved here, it's untidy but smells so sweet. It might not appreciate being espaliered !

I've got a different problem with new honeysuckle, I've grown 3 along a party fence ,which is like the wire you get around playgrounds, it's growing well but my neighbour is complaining and I thought of replacing them some ewhere else in my garden do they like being moved?
