Abandoned bare root Willow trees

I’ve inherited several five ft bare root willow whips that have been left outside for a couple months in a plastic bag. Their roots have been water logged and frozen in this time.

Are they likely to survive? I’ve drained the water and put them in my shed as I can’t plant til the weekend but wondered if they’re past surviving before I start digging!
They still look alive at the moment.

I think they will be fine, willow is quite difficult to kill so plant away and watch them grow

Willow is tough as old boots, so I would hold out a lot of hope for them!

They like water, so it won't do any harm for them to sit with their feet wet.

What sort of willow are they? Just a word of warning - they can be rampant and send down roots that seek out drains and water pipes.

Willows are very tough plants, if the roots smell or have rotted - then just chop them off and push the remainder of the trees into the ground like a giant cutting. As long as the top part is alive (you can scrape the bark gently with yopur thumbnail to check its green underneath) then they will grow! Happy planting and good luck!
