What to do with my olive trees over winter?

I have two olive trees in pots that I put in in April. They are still quite young trees but not tiny. They are in a fairly sunny spot-but won't get as much warmth over winter when the sun is lower in the sky.
I don't have a conservatory or anywhere to put them indoors. Will they be ok outside (with maybe a burlap sack on them if it gets really cold or snowy for ages) or have they got no chance?

I've had my potted olive tree for several years and it has to stay outside all year. I have a white non woven fabric bag that I pop over the leaves, bought it at our local garden centre and have used it for years. Burlap sacking should work, my only concern would be the weight when wet.

Mine is 10 years old in a pot and hardy. I am in London where winters are milder but it has survived snow and prolonged low temps. I don't do anything for it!

Lovely-thanks both. I'm really pleased Dog how they've grown (I'm not a natural gardener!) so it would be a shame to lose them Smile

We’re in the Midlands and leave ours out all year. They’re about 6ft tall, in a large courtyar. The snow and frost didn’t bother them.

I've had mine outside in pots for about ten years, and they've not come to any harm. I do tend to fleece wrap them if it's really cold, but it doesn't always happen. I'm always surprised hoe reliant they seem to be!

The one I planted last year survived the winter in Scotland without any special attention in a fairly exposed spot. We had a lot of snow and storms!

I've got some thin sacking and will wrap them if it gets really snowy. Other than that I think I'll
Leave them to it then. Thanks all!

Mine has lived outside for 20 years - I never protect it. It fruits most years (but the blackbirds get them)

Mine's outside all winter, uncovered. I keep it against the house in a sheltered spot, we live in East Anglia and we get some cold winds in winter, not particularly mild, and it survives every year.

Mine are against the house wall as well, in a fairly sheltered south west facing corner, so they are protected from cold north and east winds.
