We are planning to move house soon, and trying to get everything ready for viewings. I would really appreciate some advice on making the garden look nice. We have a courtyard type garden with a small (about 2m x 6m) flowerbed - it is south east facing so gets quite a bit of sun.
The problem is that this year, for some reason, lots of my plants haven't come up at all (perennials) and the ones that have are ravaged by either the cold winter or the heatwave, not sure which.
The surviving ones that still look ok are: lavender hedging, sedums, Japanese anemones, and some geraniums bravely flowering for the second time this summer. None of my seedlings survived and the whole thing looks patchy and dry
My question is what to do at this stage to make it look better for viewings in - hopefully - a month or so? I don't want to spend too much money as I presume I wouldn't be able to take things with me when we move (I'm rubbish at taking cuttings).
Should I just chuck loads of bedding plants in there? What would be good at this time of year please that would look good quite quickly?
Any ideas v gratefully received!
