Safe disposal of weedkiller

My dh threatened to have a go at that little plant with purple leaves and yellow flowers with weedkiller. He went totally ott over it, I don't mind the weed but mind the weedkiller, especially since we have a cat.
I put him off this time, but would like to get rid of the weedkiller and realise I don't know how.
Does anybody know?

I cannot answer your question...BUT next time DH feels the need to kill the weeds, pour VERY salty water on them. I tried it on my drive at the weekend and the weeds are shrivelling up a treat. Its much more cat friendly.

Nobody any ideas? I know it became illegal to sell certain types of weedkiller and maybe also to have them. I'm not that worried about being arrested, but would like to get rid of the stuff anyway. I noticed dh had used it on some rampant campanula at the front and now, from looking green and blue it looks brown. Grrr... he has promised not to do it again...

Have a look at this site...it is for the pesticides safety directorate who regulate pesticide use in the uk, they have advice on use and dispoal.

pesticide disposal

basically you can take it to your local council tip and they will dispose of it for you. Dont put it down tthe drain whatever you do.
