Thanks book I might just try letting them ramble where they please then!
I've also got some peppers that need potting on. And a few sunflowers to plant out.

it occurred to me Pyxie - mine are the lunchbox/ bite size ones - I have not grown full sized for years. My NDN on the plot ties them up on a cane at an angle - anchored into the side of the greenhouse where the roof joins , that way the cucumbers hang down .

I'm pretty sure mine are a small variety too.

May be I better think about doing small cucumbers next year, then I won't be off loading them by the barrow load Grin. I found a snail in my mini green house today unfortunately after it has caused damage. It choose the peppers that took an age to germinate. I will sow some more. We had drizzle all afternoon yesterday but somehow I think it missed my plot. Slugs or snails have been busy there too and I have had at least 4 potato plants decapitated, but I think they will rally round. Almost time for a new thread Book Smile

Squashes, runners, peas, sweetcorn and sweet potatoes all went in today so fingers crossed the slugs are spoilt for choice and don't get everything! Oh, and we sowed parsnips at my son's request - not sure whether we'll have success with those. My brassica seed are all a bit weak - wondering whether to buy in some larger plants to put in once the garlic and broad beans are done.

We've had a few days of rain here, so ive not actually planted much out, but the hardening off is happening here in earnest too. A motley selection of tomatoes, tomatillos, beans and courgettes is ready to go. And loads of flowers. I did plant up 1 tomato hanging basket, and I've put 1 lot of beans out.

Maybe tomorrow will bring some drier weather... Still not that warm at night though!

I also have a tray of brassica that REALLY need pricking out or planting out. The spinach bolted I think in that bit of hot weather that we had. I've been a bit of a rubbish grower this year, and things have not been potted on as and when they need so everything is stunted or overcrowded. Oops.

Thanks elephant - was trying to keep an eye on it, but it zooms away sometimes!

We had a small amount of much needed rain. Everything’s growing pretty well, netted my strawberries today as they are flowering (can’t wait to eat strawberries), my strawberry plants are around ten years old so I get a good crop.

I’m still having rhubarb issues, something is eating the leaves and the actual rhubarb itself, I have put down slug pellets and netted what’s left in hope to keep the snails and slugs off.

Moved my peppers outside and they are flowering, my first lot of potatoes are close to flowering too. Some lettuce ready to pick and spring onions getting bigger.

Looking for a little advice. What do you all recommend to get rid of flea beetles? We took over our plot in November and had put in Pak Choi plants a week or so ago. They have been decimated by flea beetles which have now moved onto the kale seedlings that have come through and my radishes. It's really dispiriting.

I was going to buy BugFree but there are lots of Amazon reviews saying it didn't work. Any suggestions please?
