Will my crocosmia recover?

I went away for a week on holiday and although the neighbour was watering my plants, the crocosmia now looks like this. Will it recover next year or should I just get rid of it?

Have you ever tried to kill crocosmia?

I've got the smallish orange sort, and the more I try to get rid of it, the bigger it grows.
In other words, I think it will be worse better than ever next year.

Mine survive just about anything. You know the thing about cockroaches being the only thing to survive a nuclear holocaust? Add these flowers to that DD tells me that you are not allowed to dispose of them in general garden waste, as they are so very tough to get rid of

Pretty sure it will survive.

Mightn't recover this year but will pop up again next year.

Chop back the brown foliage and give it some water and a feed. It’ll come back next year.

I had to dig up my crocosmia this year and it's current sitting in a clump in a bag for life by the back door. Flowering. Don't fret, it'll be fine!

I’m sure they’ll be fine. I’m the world’s worst gardener and I’ve not managed to kill them yet. I don’t usually have to try very hard. I’m so terrible that I found some gladioli in tubs in the back of the garage yesterday. They’ve been there a year with no water only sunshine but somehow they’re still alive. I’ve also somehow managed to overwinter some other gladioli outside which are thriving. According to all sources I should be gladioli-less but not so!! I’ve now realised I should only plant things which are hard to get rid of on account of the fact that I am absolutely terrible at looking after them Grin

I wish i hadn't planted crocosmia. Its indestructible and impossible to contain. The more I dig it up the faster it breeds.

Well, I like crocosmia so I'm glad it sounds as though it will come back! Thanks for all your replies!
