please can anyone help me/give advice on what to do...
yesterday I was dong gardening and noticed a plant I hadn't seen before - rang my mum and she said oh no its Japanese Knotweed - came straight round - yes it 100% that... and we found out its coming from the neighbours garden who backs on to ours... this little weed in my garden its about 30cm tall... his is really really tall - above the fence... and looks like he has this for decoration? they have a gardener and his garden is really lovely and well looked after... apart from this mass of knotweed... I mean there is loads all mixed in with his bushes!... so my question is what the heck do I do? I have looked oline and getting quotes of £3000 plus to get rid of - I do not have that money spare for this! how can I get rid?

Sorry for just replying... the said they didn't sort due to some problems but they would sort when he gets the stuff he needs? It's defo knotweed - it's snaps easy bamboo type thing and is hollow inside! And in the past few days I've noticed more to grow!!! And when I seen them I bloody cried! 😭😭 I'm praying he sorts yet fast knowing my luck he won't...

JKN is, in my experience, dealt with by spraying with Roundup Biactive. Do not cut it until completely dead then burn on site. You will not be able to get hold of that chemical but someone qualified will be able to. To spray herbicide (commercially) you need NPTC PA1 and PA6. Whoever deals with it will need to spray all of the foliage and then return in August and deal with any new growth. Cut down the dead dry stems in autumn and burn on site. Then allow it to come back next year and treat it again at around 75-100cm height. Then repeat until it goes away.
If your neighbour doesn't get onto this, contact your home insurance provider/legal expenses cover and advise that your neighbour is allowing JKN to escape from their land onto yours.

I think your neighbour is having you on, I'm sorry, ask for the insurance certificate and when they refuse you'll know.

I'm sorry I don't think the son is remotely qualified to deal with this. Anyone with any clue would have this managed and the certificates in place.

Exactly.

You can be sure that the family member will be splashing around neat herbicide without a clue how it works and without a care for the environment.
