This bed faces the back of the house so is the main view when we look out, it is sunny although partially shaded in summer by the huge trees at the end of the garden.
I want it to look great all year round and don't have the expertise to plan that, happy to tend it often as it's so near the house so it gets the most attention, I like the cottage garden look and like pinks, blues and whites nothing orange please!
I'd be really grateful for your help, thank you!!

Also, to the right is like something to make a bit of a statement as the is steps that go up and another bed the same on the other side so I'd like a plant on either side of the steps.

So many plants would look good. To start with Phlox come in whites and pinks, large and small, Campanula have a wide variety of forms, including some that would tumble over the edge. Old fashioned Pinks would smell lovely. A small patio rose or two. Astrantia has a long flowering period.
Alliums would be stately. Spring bulbs such as snowdrops and hyacinths.
Others will be along with more suggestions, there are so many options.

Thank you JT05, for the suggestions and also the compliments on my wall (which was built last week!).
Many lovely ideas, some of which I already had but also some new ones too.

I was just thinking of getting some of this for a dry banking, Ceanothus thyrsiflorus, lovely blue flowers at this time of year. But also evergreen and spreading so would go over the edge of the beds.

Hostas do ok in shade and can be quite architectural, to edge the steps. Thalictrum have tall stems with dainty purple flowers, depending which you buy, so you would look through them to the garden beyond. Geraniums are all shades of pink, purple, blue and white if you want a quick filler.
