Enchanter's nightshade Circaea letitiana, a real pest to get rid of (I speak from experience... )

Thanks. I’ll have that up then.

I like your way of thinking.
I am very much of the nature is the head gardener school of thought.
This is growing under my rowen tree where I struggle to get anything to grow really.

Gardengeek - that's interesting. If you've got time, do you have any links etc about the idea, please?

Thank you. I am very lucky.
That’s about half of it.
Here is the same lawn from half way down the garden.

Can I jump in and ask for an ID on this plant for my mum please.

She has no clue what it is or what to do with it. She has given it by a friend who has since passed away - it’s been in place for about 5 years (ish) but has grown substantially in that time.

However - a lot of the leaves/fronds/whatever they’re called are brown this year and she doesn’t know why.

Also - in the past it had the gorgeous white flowers all over and this year they are just at the edges and none in the middle and again, she has no idea why.

Thank you so much gardengeek - the flowers are absolutely beautiful - I’ve never actually seen them before because I am never normally over visiting at this time of year I guess. (We live in a different part of the UK)

It’s against the shed and yes it really is massive! I will pass on your info and hopefully she’ll be able to rescue it. I was tempted to take some cuttings back home with me but have to be honest I was rather terrified of how mammoth it could become!

My mum seems to have a way with giant plants - last night we measured the hebe which she had planted about 15-20years ago as a small wee thing (about 20-30cm across) and it’s now almost 2metres in diameter and we reckon about 70-80cm high. It’s completely taken over the set of steps in the garden that it was planted next to and they are totally unusable now!

Can I ask for another one please?
