Rosa Gentle Hermione in part shade

Hello

I'm just wondering if anyone here has a Rosa Gentle Hermione in an East facing position (sun in the morning but shady afternoon)? If so, does it do well? The websites I've looked at are slightly contradictory with some saying full sun only and others saying part shade is OK.

If it's not a good idea any other suggestions for long flowering, pink shrub roses that can cope with part shade would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have Lady of Shallot, more peach than pink, growing against a Leyllandi hedge, facing East. Lots of buds. It also has a lovely perfume.

Thanks JT - I'll have a look at that one.

Well, the David Austin website recommends full sun for Gentle Hermione, so I’d go with that.

I grow rose Olivia Rose Austin in part shade. It produces loads of flowers over a long period of time and has excellent disease resistance, as well as a nice fruity fragrance. The colour of the flowers shows up really well against a shady background, which is a plus.

To be honest, I don’t think the pictures on the David Austin website really do it justice, so I’ve added one of my own 😉

Lady of shallot is stunning too and does well in part shade, but is quite orange in my garden.
