Total novice, have inherited a very pretty garden and would love some help identifying the following.

A & B, not a clue. C sits next to blackberry, it also has small white flowers that have almost all dropped off. So I could wait and see what it is, but am far to impatient for that!!

agree on A hosta , B Valerian C looks a bit like a currant to me - if you rub the stem, you will beable to smell blackcurrant - if no smell it could be a red or white currant- redcurrants have long tassels of flowers, white currants less.

Then stems of C have thorns, so can't rub. It is definitely a blackberry just to its right though.

ah, that flower helps - yes, looks like its one of blackberry family - it does look fairly upright - is it wired up, or standing by itself?
